Our Mission

At Buds & Blossoms Child Care and Early Education Center (启萌幼儿教育中心), children learn Mandarin while developing all their natural gifts and talents. Located in Chinatown in Boston, just minutes from the train station, our child-centered philosophy, native Chinese-speaking educators, and beautifully appointed classrooms enable children to grow and thrive as individuals, while learning the importance of being a caring member of a community.

We offer full-day, five-day-a-week, Mandarin-Immersion/Reggio-Emilia-Inspired child care services at an affordable, competitive price. Many Reggio Emilia centers are only half-day programs, but here at Buds and Blossoms, we offer full-day child care with Mandarin Immersion!

Reggio Emilia Philosophy

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia schools in Italy, we embody a student-directed educational philosophy. Our child-care curriculum builds organically on the children’s curiosity and imagination. Respecting each child’s interests and individuality, we encourage children to explore their environment and themselves. Children learn through hands-on experience and play. We offer a Reggio Emilia-inspired, play-based curriculum. In our approach, parents and teachers collaborate as learning partners.

Why Mandarin Immersion in Childcare?

Did you know that learning Chinese utilizes areas of the brain that other languages do not? Studies have shown that while English speakers typically use the left temporal lobe for language processing, Mandarin speakers engage both the left and right temporal lobes. In addition to using both sides of the temporal lobe, bilingual skills enhance brain development and prepare children for our increasingly global society. Start teaching your child Mandarin today! Mandarin is the new must-have language. Early childhood is the optimal time to learn a language, and in an immersion program, children learn a second language as naturally as they learn their first.
